Pre and post care

Injections pre-care

  1. Avoid blood thinners for 7 days prior to injection appointment.
  2. Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, Vitamin E, fish oil, and herbal supplements (ginkgo biloba).
  3. Please check with your MD first prior to stopping any medications.
  4. Avoid alcohol for 48-72 hours prior.
  5. Begin to take Arnica and/or Bromelain 2 days before appointment to help reduce bruising and swelling.
  6. For any active cold sores or open wounds at the injection area, the appointment will be rescheduled until completely healed.
  7. Avoid use of Retin-A or Glycolic products 2 days prior. You may resume using these products after 2 days.
  8. Avoid vaccine shots 2 weeks pre and post injection appointment.
  9. Using Accutane? If using Accutane, the treatment must be postponted until 6 months after the last dose was taken.
  10. Come with a clean face, if possible.
  11. Don't come on an empty stomach and drink plenty of water.

Naked Booty Pre-Care

  1. Avoid smoking or using any tobacco products for at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment.
  2. Avoid taking any blood thinners for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.
  3. Stop using any creams or lotions containing Retin-A or Glycolic acid for 10 days before your treatment.
  4. It is recommended to wear loose-fitting clothing to your appointment and avoid sitting for 8-10 hours prior to your appointment.
  5. Ensure to stay hydrated and eat healthy meals leading up to your Naked Booty procedure

Microneedling pre-care

  1. No Retin-A products or applications 24 hours prior to your treatment.
  2. No auto-immune therapies or products 24 hours prior to your treatment.
  3. No prolonged sun exposure to the face 24 hours prior to your treatment.
  4. A microneedling treatment will not be administered on sunburned skin.
  5. On the day of the treatment, please keep your face clean and do not apply makeup.
  6. If you are taking a blood thinner, aspirin or any other medication that you have the propensity to bleed easily while on, please tell your technician If you are under a physician's care and need to discontinue your medication for a few days, always ask your physician prior to each Micro needling appointment.
  7. If you are planning to receive neurotoxins or dermal fillers, make sure that you give yourself at least 2 weeks post injections before receiving your Micro needling procedure
  8. If an active or extreme breakout occurs before treatment, please consult your practitioner Wait 6 months following oral isotretinoin use.

Facial pre-care

  1. Discontinue the use of products with the ingredient isotretinoin (Accutane) within 6 months prior to treatment
  2. Discontinue the use of Retin-A products, Tretinoin, or any active ingredients such as Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A products), Vitamin C or anything perceived as 'active' skincare within 72 hours prior to receiving treatment.
  3. No prolonged sun exposure to the face 24 hours prior to your treatment.
  4. Avoid laser hair removal, electrolysis, waxing, and the use of depilatory creams for 5-7 days prior to the peel.
  5. Avoid having the peel until skin has completely healed from any procedures, such as IPL, lasers, or microdermabrasion.
  6. On the day of the treatment, please keep your face clean, sterile, and do not apply makeup.
  7. If an active or extreme breakout occurs before treatment, please consult with your provider.
  8. To prep the area 72 hours pre-treatment, use a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, hydrating serum, and SPF 30 or above.
  9. If you have history of herpes infection you may need to start an anti-viral medication 1 day prior to this peel and continue according to the full indicated treatment cycle.

HAIR PRP PRE-CARE

  1. Increase fluid intake.
  2. Shower in the morning and come with clean hair with no products.
  3. No auto-immune therapies or products 24 hours prior to your treatment.
  4. Avoid blood thinner, aspirin or any other medication that you have the propensity to bleed easily, 2 days prior.
  5. It may be painful and may be sore afterwards.

NEUROTOXIN POST-CARE

  1. Reduce swelling and discomfort. Gently apply a cold compress to the treated areas for 10-15 minutes on and off over 24-48 hours.
  2. Avoid excessive sweating or heat exposure for 24 hours (exercise, sauna, jacuzzi, hot tubs, UV lamps, and direct sun). Avoid pressure, massaging, or excessive facial expressions post treatment.
  3. Apply or take Arnica supplements to help reduce bruising and swelling.
  4. Keep injected area clean for 24 hours. Avoid applying makeup and skincare products for at least 4 hours post injection.
  5. Avoid laser or skin care procedures for at least 2 weeks post injection. Don't manipulate/massage injection sites.
  6. Therefore, avoid using a cleansing brush, facials, brow waxing/threading and face down massages for 24 hours. (If you're unsure, check with your provider with the above services on their policies.)
  7. Stay upright for at least 4 hours after.
  8. Avoid laying down or bending forward after.
  9. Neurotoxins will take effect in a couple days. But allow 2 weeks to fully kick in to see optimal results. Treatments are usually done every 3-4 months.

Filler POST-CARE

  1. Avoid dental procedures 2 weeks before or after injections.
  2. Minimize facial animation for 4-6 hours.
  3. Lips: Avoid pursing your lips for 2 weeks (ex. using straws, smoking, using a water bottle).
  4. Nose: Avoid sunglasses, glasses, applying pressure (ex. masks), or rubbing your nose for 2 weeks.
  5. Give time for dermal filler to "set" in your skin. Due to swelling and bruising, unevenness and irregularities may be present in the first 2 weeks (this will usually resolve after complete healing and settling).
  • Feeling the filler (may feel firm or like bumps/lumps) is normal. As long as you don't see any irregularities, avoid touching/massaging the treated area(s) unless otherwise instructed. If it is visible, please notify the provider.
  • Lips: If you feel or see a bump/lump you can massage it out after the swelling has gone down.

6. Patients with a history of cold sores may experience cold sores after lip fillers.

NAKED BOOTY POST-CARE

  1. Avoid strenuous activities for 1-2 weeks after your procedure.
  2. Stay hydrated - drink plenty of water.
  3. Avoid consuming alcohol and smoking for several weeks.
  4. Do not apply body lotions or creams to the treatment area.
  5. Avoid scrubbing or picking the treatment area.

FILLER POST-CARE (Specified)

Sculptra: 5 by 5 by 5 Rule

  • Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days.

Hyperdiluted Radiesse: 2 by 2 by 2 Rule

  • Massage the treated area for 2 minutes, 2 times a day, for 2 weeks.

*Contact your provider if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms or if you have any questions or concerns: severe unusual pain, persistent numbness/weakness, splotchy or mottle skin, severe swelling.

MICRONEEDLING POST-CARE

  1. Use tepid water for the initial 24 hours to rinse the treated area. After 24 hours, use a gentle cleanser to cleanse the face for the following 72 hours and gently dry the treated skin. Always make sure that your hands are clean when touching the treated area.
  2. After 24 hours, apply the Naked MD with Arnica or Hyaluronic Acid or Growth Factor for moisture and healing over the next 7 to 10 days.
  3. Do not take any inflammatory medicines for at least 2 weeks post treatment.
  4. It is recommended that makeup or sun-screen should not be applied for 24 hours after the procedure. Do not apply any make-up with a makeup brush, especially if it is not clean.
  5. After the initial 24 hours, apply a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 30 for 2 weeks. A chemical-free sun-screen is highly recommended.

What to Avoid:

  1. For at least 3 days post treatment, DO NOT use: any Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamind C (in a low PH formula) or anything perceived as 'active' skincare (for extra sensitive skin types: wait until fully healed).
  2. Avoid intentional and direct sunlight for 48 hours. No tanning beds.
  3. Do not go swimming for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
  4. No exercising or strenuous activity.
  5. For the first 24 hours post-treatment, sweating and gym environments must be avoided during the first 72 hours post-treatment.
  6. Wait at least a week and until you are fully healed to use any form of an exfoliant.

HAIR PRP POST-CARE

  1. Keep the area clean and do not wet for 4 hours after treatment.
  2. Do NOT use hair products for 6 hours after.
  3. Avoid exercise, swimming and heat exposure (hot sauna, steam rooms, sun) for 2 days.
  4. Use pH balanced shampoo for the first 3 days.
  5. Take a warm shower and wash your hair that evening, after the treatment, to promote the effects of PRP.
  6. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and smoking for 3 days after treatment. Smokers don't heal well and problems recur earlier; results may take longer.
  7. No blood thinner agents or anti-inflammatory medications for one week.
  8. Continue increased water intake the first week after your treatment.
  9. Avoid resuming: Minoxidil (Formula 82M, Rogaine), hair coloring, and straightening for 3 days. Will need multiple sessions for best results every 4-6 weeks.

SKIN HEALTH POST-CARE

  1. Immediately discontinue the use of all active ingredients for 1 weeks post treatment or until the skin is healed. (Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide, Retinol (Vitamin A products), Vitamin C or anything perceived as 'active' skincare).
  2. Avoid intentional and direct sunlight for 7-10 days, including tanning beds. Sunscreen may be used.
  3. Avoid running water directly on your face while showering.
  4. No exercising or strenuous activity until the skin is completely healed. Sweating and gym environments must be avoided until your skin is completely healed.
  5. Avoid any depilatories, lasers, permanent makeup, etc. 2 weeks post treatment or until your skin is completely healed.
  6. If you are concerned about any reaction, please call our office and contact your healthcare provider immediately.
  7. After skin is healed, return to your daily Skin Health Program.

SKIN HEALTH POST-CARE (CHEMICAL PEEL SPECIFIED)

In addition the the above post-care instructions:

  1. Avoid washing face or treated area for at least 5 hours after the peel. Preferably, wait to wash until the morning after the peel.
  2. The day after the peel:
  • Wash the face or treated area with cleanser from your daily ZO Skin Health Program. Wash face gentle for 30-40 seconds. Rinse and pat dry.
  • Apply the second packet of Retinol Creme Complex.
  • Apply a thin layer of Hydrating Creme.
  1. Hydrating Creme may be applied 3 times daily or more often, if needed.
  2. Redness, stinging, itching, mild swelling, flaking, and peeling are expected and may vary in intensity for each individual.
  3. Exfoliation generally begins 2-3 days after treatment and ends by day 5.
  4. Redness and tingly sensation are normal post treatment.
  5. Avoid rubbing, scratching, or peeling/picking the skin with your fingers while healing.

  • Skin discoloration (aside from bruising)
  • Development of pustules or nodules
  • Change in vision
  • Fever after treatment
